Q. Why should I have my eyes tested regularly?
A. Good vision is something most of us take for granted but as we grow – from children to adults – our eyes change, resulting in changes to vision. These changes are easily corrected and they will enable you to live life in focus. You should have your eyes tested every two years at least.

Q. Does an eye test hurt?
A. No. The eye examination (eye test) is painless and takes 30 minutes. Firstly, your vision is assessed, and corrected if necessary. Secondly, your eyes are health checked for glaucoma, cataracts or medical conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes.

Q. Is an eye examination free?
A. Yes! Since the 1st April 2006, eye examinations are now free for everybody in Scotland.
