Fife Optician Ferrier and Mackinnon

We are an independent, family optician dedicated to excellence in eye care. We offer professional eye examinations and stock a wide range of designer frames, sports eyewear and contact lenses.

A Bit of History:
John Ferrier founded the Ferrier Optometrists practice in Lochee in 1988. Four years later his son, also John, and his son-inlaw, Charles MacKinnon, qualified as professional optometrists, and Ferrier & MacKinnon was born. Initially Ferrier & MacKinnon had three practices in Lochee, Kinross and Burntisland. The Dunfermline practice opened in 1996 when Colin Ferrier became a partner in the firm. The practice in Newport-on-Tay was taken over in 2003 and then followed by the opening of our Cowdenbeath practice in 2005.  In October 2009, we moved premises in Newport-on-Tay - just around the corner, to create a brighter, more spacious practice there.  In March 2010 Ferrier & MacKinnon acquired Morton's Opticians in Inverkeithing and South Queensferry, meaning we can offer our outstanding service on both banks of the Forth as well as the Tay!
